Book Illustrations

My friend Heather Deaville recently asked me to illustrate her children's book, "I have a Guardian Angel". The story was inspired by my brother, Greg's, story about his birth mother. In the story Ms. Moffit watches over our little boy throughout his day....in the car with daddy, at school while he's missing his parents, at the park on the 'very tall slide', in the kitchen while mommy is distracted etc. All of the animals in the book acknowledge Ms. Moffit (as it is said that animals are in tune with the spirit world) but our little man does not see her. At bath time one day daddy tells him that he has a Guardian Angel who watches over him. At the end of the book the little guys recognises Ms. Moffit for himself.

All of the art is done in water color and ink. I made 'Ms. Moffit's' hair red like Greg's birth mother's. The father in the book is modeled after Greg himself. The boy telling the story is modeled after Greg's son, Nicholas. Several pages have a little hidden symbol representing, Greg, Nicholas, the author or myself. For example the license plate is Greg's birth date and there are toys and cell phone in the fish tank because Nicholas went through a long and frustrating phase of putting everything in dads fish tank..lol. This was the second book I have illustrated. The first being 'Cassy the little witch' in 1989.
